Wired Vs Wireless Alarm Systems

Hard wired systems are generally cheaper and do not require batteries to be changed as they are powered directly from the alarm panel. If you have a single storey property, we generally recommend a hardwired alarm system.

If you are a tennant or live in a small home, such as an apartment you may like to consider a wireless alarm system. This will give you ability to take the system with you if you leave and can be easily installed either DIY or by one of our Licenced Security Technicians.

Home owners of existing 2 storey properties may be limited to a wireless security alarm, as running cables to the lower levels may costly or not at all possible.

Do you want a phone app for your alarm?

Nearly all the manufacturers have developed a basic phone application for control of your new alarm system while you're not home. 

Most phone apps will enable you to complete basic functions such as arming and disarming; some, like the iRisco app, take things to the extreme. Risco allows you to control every feature of the alarm system, just like you're at home. 

With the iRisco app, available on all Risco alarm panels, you'll get instant push-notifications of alarm events, rather than just an email. You can also add alarm verification cameras to the alarm system. These cameras will send you a 30 second video clip, via the iRisco App, if your alarm goes off.
